ABOUT THE 2011 COURSE...
The Executive Director of the Montreal Course is delighted to announce the 2011 course will again be held at Bishop's College School, near Sherbrooke, Québec.
The 350-acre Lennoxville campus at Bishop’s College School is nestled in the heart of Quebec’s historic Eastern Townships, a mere 2-hour drive from Montreal. The school was founded in 1836 and possesses many attributes that have been traditional at the MBCC over its various sites throughout its 50 year history. A perfect blend of picturesque landscapes, historic architecture and modern facilities, BCS provides the ideal venue for the 50th Montreal Boys’ Choir Course.
Our arrangements with the school will maintain our tradition of being the only users of the site, giving us the freedom to get up to our usual antics, while providing the necessary safety and security for all of our participants. The facilities at BCS contain rehearsal spaces (one of which is St Martin’s Chapel, a bona fide chapel with all the usual ecclesiastical accoutrements and a pipe organ), an arts centre, and wireless access throughout the campus. The athletic facilities at BCS are second-to-none with a gym which contains two full-sized basketball courts and a freshly renovated fitness centre and aerobics room. Outdoor facilities include six sports fields, three tennis courts, a running track, and several acres of wooded cross-country trails.
In its 51st year, the RSCM Montreal Course looks forward to a musically challenging and fun-filled week in this beautiful location.
